Division 3 Pennant Grand Final Winners

Saturday 9th March at 10am saw our Division 3 team line up to play in the BHBR Highlands Division 3 Grand Final against Gisborne. The team finished on top of the ladder on 199 points to Gisborne 198 points, this proved to be vital as it gave Lancefield the first semi final at home where they defeated Gisborne by 14 shots and therefore, a spot straight into the Grand Final the next weekend.

The weather was predicted to be very warm so the match started at 10am. After 5 end each 15 all up the scores were 11 Lancefield to 16 Gisborne, 9 ends each (27) 21 Lancefield to 31 Gisborne, 15 ends each (45) 44 Lancefield to 45 Gisborne, 19 ends each (57) 59 Lancefield to 46 Gisborne and final scores 21 ends (63) 64 Lancefield to 52 Gisborne. It seems our bowlers like to give the opposition a little head start but at least they finished the game off well and came away with a 12 shot victory.
